Caitlyn Jenner Doesn't Deserve Arthur Ashe Award

Caitlyn Jenner Vanity Fair

Caitlyn Jenner. Unless you have been in a severe coma recently, you probably have been seeing (and reading!) alot about Caitlyn Jenner, or as she was once known Bruce Jenner. Bruce Jenner was a Olympic athlete about 40 years ago who became a celebrity based on his amazing Olympic success and good looks. Today, Bruce Jenner is 65 years old and wears a dress and goes by the name of Caitlyn.

So, ESPN has decided that Bruce Jenner is a courageous individual.

The Arthur Ashe award, which recognizes strength through adversity, is given out every year at the annual ESPY award show. This year's winner, Caitlyn Jenner, is by far the most controversial winner for the award. Past winners include boxer Muhammad Ali, football player/soldier Pat Tillman, and politician Nelson Mandela.

This obviously doesn't come without some sort of controversy involved. In today's world, when a celebrity announces that they're gay (or transgender) suddenly they appear on every magazine cover and gossip website for that day.

Or in Bruce Jenner's case, that year.

While I don't see this as a get rich scheme by Bruce Jenner to manipulate the system because I don't think he is crazy enough to lose his manhood for a couple million, I can see plenty of reasons to not give Caitlyn Jenner the award. Some people feel like Lauren Hill, the college basketball player with brain cancer, who dedicated her last days to raising millions of dollars for brain cancer research should have won the Arthur Ashe award for courage. Others feel like Noah Gallaway, the double amputee soldier that appeared on 'Dancing with the Stars', should have won the award.

I might pick any homeless person over Caitlyn Jenner because I don't think it is so courageous when you stand to make a fortune from a gay-crazy media machine that puts celebrities who come out as homosexual on a pedestool. People like Pat Tillman fought to save this country and weren't expecting accolade. Nelson Mandela spent 27 years in prison. So, No, I don't think Kaitlyn Jenner deserves to be in the same conversation because Caitlyn Jenner is a media product. This is show business after all. Watch more in my video below.
